About The Position

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies under licensed medical direction.

Requirements

• Minimum Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program required.
• Formal training in intubation.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education.
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
• Complete charge duties and special projects as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
