We are located in the heart of Zachary across the street from Lane Regional Medical Center. AMG Specialty Hospital - Zachary is seeking PRN Respiratory Therapists (RT) for Monday Evening Shifts. The selected applicant will be required to work every other Wednesday night for the performance of technical work concerned with administering therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. Operating and monitoring respiratory equipment, such as, continuous and intermittent ventilators, medical gas delivery apparatus, incentive breathing/hyperinflation devices, environmental control systems, and aerosol devices; administering medical gases, humidification, aerosols, and respiratory medications; maintaining clearance of patients natural and artificial airways; obtaining blood samples and interpreting blood gas data; and providing primary assistance in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Requirements

Completion of an approved respiratory care program
Active Louisiana Respiratory License
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Minimum of one to three years of related work experience
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

Administering therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
Operating and monitoring respiratory equipment, such as, continuous and intermittent ventilators, medical gas delivery apparatus, incentive breathing/hyperinflation devices, environmental control systems, and aerosol devices
Administering medical gases, humidification, aerosols, and respiratory medications
Maintaining clearance of patients natural and artificial airways
Obtaining blood samples and interpreting blood gas data
Providing primary assistance in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
