About The Position
St. Dominic Village, a faith-based senior living community, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care to our residents. This role supports our mission of delivering exceptional, resident-centered care in a respectful and spiritually grounded environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy from an accredited program
- Current Texas Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT)
- BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of respiratory care experience preferred (skilled nursing, rehab, or acute care experience strongly preferred)
Nice To Haves
- Experience in skilled nursing, rehab, or acute care preferred
- Geriatric experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Assess and treat residents with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
- Administer oxygen therapy, breathing treatments, and airway management
- Monitor resident response and adjust care as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of respiratory equipment
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with: o Medicare/Medicaid regulations o State and federal guidelines
- Document treatments, resident responses, and progress notes
- Participate in audits and ensure regulatory compliance
- Ensure proper setup, use, cleaning, and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment
- Monitor oxygen systems and ensure safe usage throughout the facility
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
