Requirements

  • A dedicated professional who values patient care and teamwork.
  • Ability to assess patient needs, administer therapy, and monitor responses.
  • Strong technical skills with respiratory therapy equipment and procedures.
  • Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care)
  • Active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (must meet AHA standards, including didactic and skills demonstration, within 30 days of hire)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Respiratory therapists who earned their RRT credential after July 1, 2002 must maintain certification per NBRC requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance (with renewal)
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance (with renewal)
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal)

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert respiratory therapy and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions under physician direction.
  • Perform pulmonary function tests, interpret clinical data, and collaborate with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Operate and maintain advanced respiratory equipment, ensuring safe and effective treatment.
  • Respond to emergency situations and assist with transporting ventilated patients.
  • Mentor students and demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and healthcare staff.
