The Respiratory Therapist evaluates and treats patients with breathing related conditions, performs diagnostic testing, and collaborates with physicians to develop effective treatment plans. This position plays a vital role in emergency response, patient education, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • RRT license in the state of practice.
  • BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments with exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, reliability, and a commitment to patient centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic testing, including bedside PFTs, EKGs, blood gas analysis, and tobacco cessation education.
  • Deliver respiratory therapies, monitor patient response, and communicate changes in condition.
  • Respond to codes and emergent respiratory calls, providing rapid assessment and intervention.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory health, medication use, and illness management.
  • Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment, manage supplies, and support performance improvement efforts.
  • Provide care across neonatal through older adult populations while ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards.
