About The Position

The position is for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) located in Elmhurst, working on a per diem basis as needed during nights. The hourly pay range is between $33.16 and $49.74, determined by the candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Requirements

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status.
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification within 24 months of employment.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification within 24 months of employment.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex respiratory therapy treatment to patients under minimal supervision.
• Performs a variety of routine pulmonary function tests according to established procedures.
• Interprets physicians' orders and obtains pertinent patient information.
• Arranges and sets up necessary supplies and equipment.
• Monitors equipment regularly for proper functioning and records data obtained during therapy in patient charts.
• Assists in monitoring department procedures and recommends enhancements.
• Assists in developing procedures as requested.
