St. Mary’s is a 229-bed, acute care hospital located in Enid, OK. St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has served the healthcare needs of northwest Oklahoma for more than 100 years. We host more than 125 highly skilled physicians offering specialties in Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation, Laboratory, Women’s Imaging, Wound Care, and more.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited respiratory program with at least an associate degree.
  • Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional letter required until Board meets as designated on the letter.
  • NBRC Registered (RRT) credentials required and maintained per NBRC.
  • BLS required.
  • ALS and PALS certifications required within six (6) months of employment and annual re-certification required.
  • TEAM-de-escalation training required within 6 months of hire.
  • NRP is preferred.
  • Some clinical experience preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Typing and basic computer skills required.

  • NRP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and accurate patient care to those patients experiencing cardiopulmonary difficulties and ensure the smooth operation of the Respiratory Therapy Department.
  • Obtain data pertinent to therapy by chart review and physical exam.
  • Maintain knowledge of the various methods of oxygen delivery, including the necessary equipment.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments, understanding the purpose of each and the possible side effects associated with each.
  • Maintain asepsis with appropriate hand washing between patients.
  • Follow departmental equipment sterilization procedures by cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing equipment as needed according to department policy.
  • Assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation and make appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Provide complete and competent ventilatory management on adult, pediatric and neonatal patients.
  • Respond to Code Blue situations quickly and efficiently and perform CPR as needed.
  • Consistently exchange opened or unlocked carts and restock crash cart post code.
  • Use Two Patient Identifiers on all patients.
  • Document all pertinent data on the patient’s medical record following completion of any service.
  • Receive and give report on condition of assigned patients to include patient information, order changes, and initiation of new orders, transfers and dismissals.
  • Assume share and responsibility of workload, according to level of skill and abilities.
  • Set-up and monitor mechanical ventilators and the associated critical care duties.
