About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join a high-performing clinical team for a 13-week travel assignment. This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive respiratory care to patients across a variety of acute and critical care settings. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ) or Certified Respiratory Therapist ( CRT )
  • Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify acute and chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction
  • Initiate, manage, and wean ventilatory support using lung-protective strategies
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ventilators to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Perform diagnostic procedures including ABG draws, sputum collection, and bedside spirometry
  • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and perform capnography monitoring
  • Administer oxygen therapy, Heliox, and high-flow oxygen therapy
  • Provide non-invasive ventilation support and airway management
  • Assist with bronchoscopies, intubations, and conscious sedation procedures
  • Respond to emergency situations including Codes and Rapid Response events
  • Manage artificial airways including tracheostomy and laryngectomy care
  • Perform suctioning (naso-tracheal, endotracheal, and tracheostomy) and assist with trach changes
  • Deliver aerosolized and metered-dose medications
  • Support neonatal and pediatric respiratory care as needed
  • Monitor patient respiratory status during intra-hospital and inter-facility transport
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with care teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR, including charge reconciliation
  • Ensure equipment readiness, inventory management, and adherence to safety protocols
  • Provide education, training, and mentorship to staff and students as needed
  • Deliver exceptional patient-centered care with professionalism and compassion
