Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Must possess & maintain licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with the State of Florida Department of Health.
  • Must possess Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) AND Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) preferred, must be obtained within 90 days of start.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years experience as an RRT practicing in a Neonatal, Pediatric or Adult patient population.
  • Validation of competencies for a Respiratory Therapist Critical Care.

Responsibilities

  • Administer general respiratory care modalities in accordance with department and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Operate independently in all adult intensive care areas.
  • Function as a Code Captain in at least one patient population: Adult, Pediatric or Neonatal.
  • Develop and broaden assessment skills, communication skills and knowledge base within Pediatric, Neonatal and Critical Care.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of a shift lead and function as an alternate shift lead therapist.
  • Collaborate with multiple members of a patient's care team, including the implementation and monitoring of all therapeutic modalities per physicians' orders.
  • Provide on call staffing for department needs.
