About The Position

Where You’ll Work St. Luke’s Health - Memorial Hospital in Livingston, TX, is located just off Highway 59 south. The 66-bed hospital provides more than 60,000 patient services each year, with half of those services being offered in the Level 4 Trauma-Designated Emergency Department. Services offered include: Orthopedic care, Women’s Services, and a state-of-the-art Sleep Center. Imaging services include: MRI, CT scan, nuclear medicine scans, 4D Ultrasound, cardiac echocardiograms, fluoroscopy, bone density scanning and 3D mammography. We are offering a $10,000 Sign On Bonus to new hires that meet the eligibility requirements. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs who share your passion for delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You'll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Completion of a Respiratory Care Degree Program, which is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the Texas Medical Board (TMB)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • BLS certification (through an approved AHA program)
  • None

Responsibilities

  • Administering therapy modalities which include, but are not limited to, Hand held Nebulizer (HHN), HHN via metered dose inhaler (HHN/MDI), Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV), Chest Physical Therapy (CPT), Pentamidine therapy. Medication administration may be included during these therapy modalities
  • Administering medical gas therapy including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy (HeO2).
  • Performing ventilation therapies, including maintenance and management of life support systems. These therapies are comprised of non-invasive and invasive ventilation therapies, as well as transport of ventilator patients to diagnostic procedures
  • Performs physiological monitoring and diagnostic testing including, ABG puncture, bronchoscopy assistance, pulmonary function testing, bedside PFT's, metabolic monitoring, apnea monitoring, transcutaneous monitoring, capnography, and pulse oximetry and sleep apnea assessment.
  • Performs specialized procedures which including but are not limited to, CPR, bronchial lavage, transport, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, artificial and tracheostomy airway care, and body mechanics/ambulation.
