More about our team We plan, organize and perform various procedures/ tests and clerical work related to the performance of Cardiopulmonary services. How you'll contribute A Respiratory Therapist, Registered RRT, PRN who excels in this role: Assist department manager in development and maintenance of department policies and procedures. Be familiar with and be alert to safety practices at all times. Attend and participate in programs designed for in-service education and orientation classes. Maintain a good working relationship with the medical staff and other departments as well as within the Cardiopulmonary Department. Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure patient rights are protected. Ensure business office receives charges for tests rendered. Assure that the work area is maintained in a clean and safe manner for patient comfort and convenience. Assist in maintenance of equipment and supplies for the performance of department services. Performs routine respiratory therapy including: Aerosol and oxygen therapy, CPT, IPPB, Sputum induction, airway care and maintenance, ventilator care, and incentive spirometry. Performs diagnostic studies including arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, electrocardiogram, pulmonary function test, and stress test. Answers to and assists on all Code Blue. Performs other tests and procedures for which they have documented training and approval. Performs all clerical tasks as directed. Helps to maintain a clean and orderly atmosphere of department working area. Performs other tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate or as may be directed by the Imaging Manager or hospital administrator. Demonstrates the capability to acquire and interpret information and administer care based upon an understanding of growth and development, taking into consideration that ages of the patients, and the range of treatment needed by these patients. Demonstrates knowledge of safety principles and utilizes them in daily practice. Demonstrates knowledge of basic Infection Control Practices and consistently observes Universal Precautions in the practice settings.
