About The Position

As part of the Respiratory Team here at BID Milton you will be required to work independently to initiate, monitor and discontinue both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support. Other responsibilities include active participation in Rapid response and Code Blue pages, airway care, tracheostomy care, nebulizer therapy, chest physical therapy, obtaining and interpreting arterial blood gas samples. You will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team to assess and provide optimum patient care. This position is per diem, with various hours and shifts available.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of respiratory care or qualified by experience and state licensure.
• Registered, or registry eligible, certified or certification eligible preferred.
• Current Massachusetts licensure.
• BLS Certification required, ACLS certification preferred.
• Computer literate/telephone/copy machine/fax.
• Excellent verbal communication skills/customer service oriented/able to perform with distractions in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessment, diagnostic testing, prescribed treatment and care of the respiratory therapy patient.
• Evaluate effectiveness of treatment and maintain department records.
• Work independently.
