Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital has proudly served residents across Southeast Michigan since 1953. With 632 beds, Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is a major teaching and research hospital and home to five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship in partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine. Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is verified as a Level II trauma center and accredited by the Joint Commission as a primary stroke center. The hospital is also known for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart and vascular and cancer care. The NICU Registered Respiratory Therapist delivers specialized respiratory care for premature and critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Working with minimal supervision, this role performs comprehensive assessments, administers and evaluates therapeutic interventions, and ensures safe, effective ventilatory support in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. The therapist provides expertise in neonatal respiratory physiology, participates in emergency response situations, and contributes to individualized care planning. Additional responsibilities include educating families and staff, maintaining and troubleshooting respiratory equipment, and supporting general departmental operations. The NICU Respiratory Therapist promotes a culture of safety, clinical excellence, and compassionate, family‑centered care.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy
  • Respiratory Therapist License - State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or American Red Cross Upon Hire required

Nice To Haves

  • CRT- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • CRT- NPS (Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty) preferred
  • 1 year NICU or pediatric critical care experience preferred.
