About The Position

Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team at our Lakes Medical Center location in Wyoming, MN. We're offering a $6,000 sign-on bonus and you may be eligible for up to a $5,000 relocation bonus! The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field.
  • License/Certification/Registration: Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) with 3 or more years of respiratory therapist experience in clinical setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field.
  • License/Certification/Registration: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Responsibilities

  • Perform Pulmonary Function test on ages 5 years and older.
  • Perform 6 minute walk tests, ABG's, Methacholine testing, Pre/Post spirometry, DLCO, MIP/MEP, MVV, Pleth, nitrogen washout.
  • Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes.
  • Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care.
  • Evaluating care and the patient's response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
  • Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment.
