The newly added 22,000-square-foot facility in Niles, Michigan will have 43 exam rooms and will house both Southwestern Medical Primary Care, Niles and Spectrum Health Lakeland Ear, Nose, and Throat providers. The $7.8 million project is expected to be completed and open to patients March 2023. This facility is a continued investment in our Niles community and the health of those we serve. It houses a range of coordinated health services from diagnostics to primary and specialty care, all in one place, allowing us to deliver care to a patient’s whole family, right in their community. Lakeland Care Network is a partnership between your physician and Corewell Health Lakeland. We are the largest Accountable Care Organization (ACO) in southwestern Michigan. We are not an insurance company, but rather a comprehensive health care network of hospitals, physicians, and other providers who share a commitment to excellence. Our provider panel consists of more than 150 primary care providers, and over 800 specialty care providers who are dedicated to serving the health care needs of our community. Corewell Health Lakeland includes three acute care hospitals in St. Joseph, Niles, and Watervliet, as well as multiple other state-of-the-art facilities throughout the region.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
  • CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required.
  • CRT-Hyperbaric Technologist, Certified (CHT) - NBDHMT National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology Hyperbaric Upon Hire required.
  • CRT-Sedation - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center Bronchoscopy and Endoscopy 180 Days required.
  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association Regional Hospitals and NICU 90 Days required.
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab 90 Days required.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required.
  • Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent clinical education.

Responsibilities

  • Applies scientific knowledge / therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care.
  • Performs a wide range of procedures related to the care of patients with general and specialized respiratory-related needs of various age groups.
  • Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs, and makes appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines.
  • Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
  • Performs point of care testing as required.
  • Performs advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures (interventions) for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
  • Assesses effectiveness of intervention and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
  • Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe.
  • Maintains competency in areas of accountability.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation and billing.
  • Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provides education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.
  • Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.
