About The Position

We are excited to announce an immediate opening for a Respiratory Therapist Intern or Respiratory Therapist at Black River Health. This position is primarily based at the Hospital Campus in our Respiratory Therapy department. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of our growing team! The positions available are: Part-time, Night Shift; 60 hours per pay period, with every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation, benefited. Provides clinical support to Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) in delivering safe and effective respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Works under direct and indirect supervision of an RRT to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality patient care while gaining supervised clinical experience aligned with an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and have completed their first year of coursework.
  • Must be in good standing, meaning you meet all academic and clinical requirements and are not on academic or disciplinary probation.
  • BLS certification is required within 3 months of hire.
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required for Respiratory Therapist position.
  • Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with one year to complete Registry exam.
  • BLS upon hire for Respiratory Therapist position.
  • NRP certification within 3 months of hire for Respiratory Therapist position.
  • ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire for Respiratory Therapist position.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the state of Wisconsin for Respiratory Therapist position.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical support to Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) in delivering safe and effective respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.
  • Works under direct and indirect supervision of an RRT to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
