About The Position

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist II, (RRT), internally referred to as our Respiratory Care Practitioner II, St. Joeseph's Medical Center (SJOMO), a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Respiratory Therapist 2 (RT 2) you will, under the direction and authorization of the Medical Director and Cardiopulmonary Director/Manager, perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Requirements

  • Valid state Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current
  • PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years experience as an RCP
  • NRP certified
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree

Responsibilities

  • Performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician
  • Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient
  • In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as team lead, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift
  • Evaluation, diagnosis, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary problems
  • Patients include those with emphysema, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, cardiac failure, and chest trauma
