About The Position

Novant Health seeks a PRN nights Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) in the Coastal market at Brunswick Medical Center. Our Registered Respiratory Therapist IIs (RRTs) serve as intricate leaders of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their support system. Respiratory therapists practice under respiratory and ventilator management protocols with a high degree of autonomy. Depending upon the facility, they perform intubations and insert a-lines. Requirements

• 2 Year / Associate Degree, required
• Current RCP licensure in appropriate state, required

Nice To Haves

• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver the most remarkable patient experience in every dimension, every time.
• Act as a patient advocate for the patient and their support system by incorporating education in the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels and ensure timely completion of care interventions, medical orders, etc.
• Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers and transport patients.
• Evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate routine respiratory care such as ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy, etc.
• Perform higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations.
• Demonstrate independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care.
• Practice according to state requirements and standards.
• Manage ventilators, participate in code blue situations, airway management, and interpret and intervene with blood gas analysis.
