About the position

Reporting to the Practice Coordinator Respiratory Therapy, this position is responsible for administering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician, with emphasis in specialty areas (i.e., Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric and Critical Care); monitoring mechanical ventilation; administering medications; patient assessment; understanding ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring; understanding blood work results; monitoring, teaching, and training.

Responsibilities

• Administer safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician.
• Emphasize specialty areas including Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care.
• Monitor mechanical ventilation.
• Administer medications.
• Conduct patient assessments.
• Understand ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring.
• Understand blood work results.
• Monitor, teach, and train patients.

Requirements

• Graduation from a two year AMA accredited Respiratory Care Program or equivalent training.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through the NBRC.
• Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the State of California.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
