About The Position

The position is part-time with a focus on critical care ground transports within the Atrium Health Mobile Medicine department. The role involves collecting data pertinent to healthcare consumers' health, conducting clinical assessments, and performing patient care interventions to ensure optimum patient care, safety, and recovery. The individual will also delegate care elements to appropriate healthcare workers and participate in facility decision-making activities. The position requires maintaining operational knowledge for various modes of transportation, including ambulances, helicopters, and airplanes, and independently initiating advanced practice procedures to improve patient outcomes. The role includes transporting and monitoring patients requiring advanced medical support.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of respiratory care required.
  • Current RT license or temporary license as a registered petitioner in the working and residential state.
  • RRT required, BSRT preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Three years clinical respiratory care experience in the Emergency Department and/or Intensive Care Unit required.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in advanced procedures and skills bi-annually required.
  • Paramedic Certification required within 2 years of hire.
  • Must acquire applicable state EMT-P, SC EMT-P and National Registry.
  • Trauma Certification, ACLS, PALS, NRP and S.T.A.B.L.E. required upon completion of orientation.
  • Advanced certification to include Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) or equivalent required.
  • Aviation training required or flight status and must meet FAA Part 135 regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-acuity transport environment.
  • Additional certifications in specialized areas of critical care.
