Applies scientific knowledge / therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care during all phases of air and/or ground medical transport.
Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs, and makes appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines.
Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
Performs advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures (interventions) for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe.
Maintains all transport equipment in a state of constant readiness.
Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provides education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.
Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.

Required Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy
2 years of relevant experience pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent clinical education
LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required
CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association Regional Hospitals and NICU 90 Days required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required

Preferred Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Therapy
1 year of relevant experience Working as Respiratory Therapist in Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care.
CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association Flight/Transport 180 Days required
