Delivers routine therapy as delegated by a therapist. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition. Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources. Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment. Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GE or Associate Degree in Science required
  • Current Respiratory Therapist Licensure to practice in the state of Kentucky.
  • Three or more years of previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date
  • Current American Heart Association PALS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire date.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves
