Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) Days
About The Position
Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist for Full-time Days as an CRT. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for conducting, performing, and analyzing diagnostic and function tests at both basic and advanced levels of therapeutic procedures. Respiratory Care Practitioners work alongside physicians and nurses to create treatment plans and evaluate the progress of treatment through the use of aerosol medications and chest physiotherapy. This position will work every other weekend and has a holiday requirement. About Nashville General Hospital Nashville General Hospital (NGH) is Nashville’s original community-based hospital. Requirements
- Graduate of a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation Respiratory Care or having passed a National Board Respiratory Care Exam or its equivalent.
- BLS, ACLS, NRP Required
Responsibilities
- Administers Respiratory Therapy Care and life support as requested by physician
- Properly evaluates lung/breath sounds. Properly evaluates therapeutic objectives
- Performs arterial puncture including sample collection. Evaluates ventilator function in relation to blood gases. Checks ventilator patients at three hour intervals or as needed; makes a complete check of equipment functions. EST or SSI ventilators between patients.
- Performing oxygen setups and rounding on oxygen patients. Performing aerosol treatments, scanning medications, and dispensing meds from Accudose. Setup and monitors CPAP/BIPAP and Pulse oximetry
- Consistently utilizes Universal Precautions and adheres to Infection Control policies and blood borne pathogen guidelines
