About The Position

This position represents patient care directed toward critical care areas, step down areas, general care areas and critical care transports.

Requirements

• HS/GED Required.
• Applicants must be licensed by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.
• Must be certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Certification of BLS is preferred for hiring processes required within the orientation period, not to exceed 90 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS and or PALS certifications are preferred.
• Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program.
• Ability to function in critical settings including initiation and support of mechanical ventilation.
• Additional experience relating to intubation and critical care transport competencies are preferred.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
• Ability to perform and recommend procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, respiratory diagnostic procedures, and all levels of mechanical ventilation.
