About The Position

Performs respiratory care modalities according to established standards and practices. Administers respiratory therapy modalities as per the physician, clinical practice guidelines, and/or clinical pathway; charts treatment, response and progress. Modifies therapy to maximize efficacy of the therapy regimen. Provides quality care consistent with appropriate policies and procedures, quality assessment program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Requirements

• Certificate Program Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training.
• 1 year Relevant experience.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist Upon Hire.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist Upon Hire.
• Basic Life Support Upon Hire.
• Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy technician program.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory therapy modalities as per the physician, clinical practice guidelines, and/or clinical pathway.
• Charts treatment, response and progress.
• Modifies therapy to maximize efficacy of the therapy regimen.
• Provides quality care consistent with appropriate policies and procedures, quality assessment program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population.
• Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment.
• Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).
• Complies with all applicable safety regulations.
• Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
• Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
