About The Position

Seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to support an acute care hospital environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and excellent communication abilities.

Requirements

• Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license/registration
• Minimum 2 years of post-degree acute care clinical experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
• Respiratory Therapy experience: Minimum 1 year (required)
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) – issued by NCTRC (required)
• Experience working in acute care hospital settings

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric patient care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapies
• Initiate, manage, and monitor oxygen therapy
• Assist physicians with initiation and maintenance of continuous mechanical ventilation
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as needed
• Conduct pulmonary function testing
• Perform radial arterial punctures
• Deliver comprehensive respiratory care services in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
