FULL TIME NIGHT SHIFT RESPIRATORY THERAPIST WANTED AT THE DANBURY HOSPITAL. $25,000 SIGN ON BONUS -- RECENT GRADS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR $12,500 IF REGISTRY ELIGIBLE. Pay range $79,000 - $118,400 per year plus shift differentials. ($4.75/hour for NIGHTS) RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS - EVENING/NIGHTS - FULL TIME 12 HOUR SHIFTS!! This is a union role - pay based on full years of experience. Summary: Provides high-quality care in a cost effective and timely manner to patients throughout the continuum. Performs critical and lab assessments of the cardiopulmonary patients and is available to work across the WCHN Network. Recommends, modifies, and administers oxygen therapy, pharmacological agents, bronchial hygiene, airway, and ventilator care. Respiratory Therapist 3 is a Registered Therapist. Summary: Provides safe, high-quality care in a cost effective and timely manner to patients throughout the continuum. Performs critical and lab assessments of the cardiopulmonary patients and is available to work across the WCHN Network. Recommends, modifies, and administers oxygen therapy, pharmacological agents, bronchial hygiene, airway, and ventilator care. Respiratory Therapist 2 is a certified Respiratory Therapist or a registered Respiratory Therapist that does not meet requirements for RT3.

  • Advanced level. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Ventilator/Rounding protocol. Helps MD to assess cardiopulmonary status. Strives to reduce length of patient's stay on ventilator and in Intensive Care Unit.
  • Makes assessment of patient's cardiopulmonary compromise. Treats hypoxia/bronchospasm with proper modality, such as O2/Bronchodilators.
  • Draws arterial blood gases. Analyzes and makes recommendations for therapy or change in therapy.
  • Performs non -invasive mask ventilation (BIPAP/CPAP).
  • Manages the neonate and surgical patients on ventilators.
  • Educates patients on state of disease as well as change to home regime in order to reduce re-admission.
  • Educates surgical patients.
  • Responds to trauma alerts, code green, code 33 and code blue; attends to & stabilizes patients.
  • Transports ventilator patients.
  • Enters charges and changes for each patient served into computer. Documents per department standards.
  • Attends mandatory inservices & department meetings per PEP standards.
  • Assists in the orientation and education of new staff.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
