About The Position

A Respiratory Technician coordinates with the patient care team to provide the highest quality patient care and advocacy. A Respiratory Tech provides equipment set-up, and instruction and maintenance, and travels by car to hospitals and patient homes to deliver, check, or pick up equipment.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Driver's License with clean driving record for 3 years
  • Ability to support the organization's vision, mission, and values
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare experience
  • HM E/DME experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists referral source in planning and implementing patient care
  • Performs initial patient evaluation and on-going patient assessments
  • Reads and evaluates physicians' orders and patient chart information to determine patient's condition and treatment protocols
  • Maintains thorough and appropriate documentation in patient medical record of all visits and procedures performed, as well as telephone contacts with the patient, caregiver, physician, and other members of the health care team
  • Instructs patient and/or caregiver in equipment usage and the organization's respiratory services
  • Performs follow up procedures to determine efficacy of patient compliance while on therapy
  • Cleans, sterilizes, checks, and maintains all equipment and accessories
  • Inventories and orders equipment and supplies per company protocols
  • Travels by car to hospitals, and/or patient homes to provide services
  • Assists in resolving patient equipment problems
  • Provides clear and compassionate communication with the complete patient care team
  • Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment, and attends safety education sessions
  • Performs on-call on a rotating basis, as needed
  • Performs other duties as required
