Grow your career with Vibra Participants in the Clinical Career Ladder are eligible for pay increases after successful completion of the Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert Level Hospital Details Located in Rapid City, South Dakota, the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills is equipped with 36 inpatient medical rehabilitation beds and 18 long-term acute care beds. As a new cornerstone of specialized care in the region, our hospital uniquely combines two levels of care under one roof. This integrated approach allows us to offer comprehensive care solutions for patients who’ve suffered a range of debilitating injuries, illnesses, surgeries, and chronic medical conditions. At the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills, we are dedicated to delivering advanced treatments and compassionate care to help our patients recover and regain their independence.

Requirements

  • Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required.
  • Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor required.
  • Current ACLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Ability to project a professional image
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of clinical experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Three (3) years medical/surgical experience preferred.
  • One (1) year of area specific experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for clinical respiratory functions on the unit in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act.
  • The respiratory nurse specialist shall ensure that the unit to which assigned shall function in a smooth, organized, and efficient manner as directed by the Charge Nurse/Nurse Supervisor/Respiratory Therapist.
  • The provision of care includes direct respiratory care along with the delegation and supervision of nursing care.
  • Specific components of the respiratory nurse specialist role include demonstrating respiratory competence, managing patient care, improving quality of care, establishing professional relationships and utilizing professional skills, fulfilling responsibilities of the role of the hospital, and developing clinical expertise per specialty.
