About The Position
Assists licensed respiratory care practitioner staff in providing care to patients of all ages under the direction of the licensed respiratory care practitioner and within the scope of defined practice. Works with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Respiratory extern will assist in providing care which includes the assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the Cardiopulmonary system. They will always be under the direct supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner.
Requirements
- High school graduate or certified equivalent.
- Must be enrolled in the 1st year of Respiratory Therapy school, 2 years from graduation.
- Current BLS required
- Basic typing and computer skills.
- Telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Medical terminology preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the same or similar position is desirable.
- Background in medical related field preferred.
