Responsible for stock, preparation, setup and maintenance of respiratory equipment/supplies in various locations where respiratory procedures are performed. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Functionally Literate
• Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
• Provide clinical support for Electrocardiograms (EKGs) and Phlebotomy procedures (Lab draws)
• Successful work employment history

Responsibilities

• Assists in keeping department clean and orderly, as well as keeping the department stocked with supplies.
• Stocks respiratory supplies on the nursing units.
• Assist with Electrocardiogram procedures that are ordered.
• Maintains competency in procedure
• Assist with Phlebotomy procedures, maintains clinical competency for arterial blood gases and venous arterial blood gases
• Locate, clean, setup and prepare respiratory equipment for use.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique in all aspects of job duties.
• Assists with maintenance of equipment and prevention of waste.
• Contacts Clinical Engineering for assistance as appropriate.
• Respects the patient’s ethnic origin, spiritual beliefs, and the right to privacy and confidentiality.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, visitors, and health care team members.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal working relationships and works cooperatively with health care team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
