Responsible for stock, preparation, setup and maintenance of respiratory equipment/supplies in various locations where respiratory procedures are performed. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Functionally Literate
  • Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
  • Provide clinical support for Electrocardiograms (EKGs) and Phlebotomy procedures (Lab draws)
  • Successful work employment history

Responsibilities

  • Assists in keeping department clean and orderly, as well as keeping the department stocked with supplies.
  • Stocks respiratory supplies on the nursing units.
  • Assist with Electrocardiogram procedures that are ordered.
  • Maintains competency in procedure
  • Assist with Phlebotomy procedures, maintains clinical competency for arterial blood gases and venous arterial blood gases
  • Locate, clean, setup and prepare respiratory equipment for use.
  • Demonstrates aseptic technique in all aspects of job duties.
  • Assists with maintenance of equipment and prevention of waste.
  • Contacts Clinical Engineering for assistance as appropriate.
  • Respects the patient’s ethnic origin, spiritual beliefs, and the right to privacy and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, visitors, and health care team members.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal working relationships and works cooperatively with health care team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
