About The Position
The Respiratory Equipment Technician provides in an expedient manner, properly functioning respiratory care equipment by disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, performing preventive maintenance on select equipment and verifying operational readiness. The Respiratory Equipment Technician organizes, monitors and maintains appropriate consumable and capital inventory levels. This position documents charges in the computer for respiratory care modalities rendered on the previous day. Requirements
- High school graduate (or GED)
- Employee must be able to work the day or evening shift as required
- Employee must be able to work every other weekend

Responsibilities
- Provides properly functioning respiratory care equipment
- Disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, performing preventive maintenance on select equipment
- Verifying operational readiness
- Organizes, monitors and maintains appropriate consumable and capital inventory levels
- Documents charges in the computer for respiratory care modalities rendered on the previous day
- Identifies equipment repairs which can be done internally
- Ships warranty items for repair
- Determines the need to clean the laboratory and equipment areas
- Orders items available through Central Supply
