About The Position

The Respiratory Equipment Technician provides in an expedient manner, properly functioning respiratory care equipment by disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, performing preventive maintenance on select equipment and verifying operational readiness. The Respiratory Equipment Technician organizes, monitors and maintains appropriate consumable and capital inventory levels. This position documents charges in the computer for respiratory care modalities rendered on the previous day.

Requirements

• High school graduate (or GED)
• Employee must be able to work the day or evening shift as required.
• Employee must be able to work every other weekend.
• Physical Lifting 20-50 lbs.
• Activities: Prolonged standing, Frequent bending, Reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive)
• Mental/Sensory: Strong recall, Reasoning, Problem solving, Hearing, Speak clearly, Write legibly, Reading, Logical thinking
• Emotional: Fast pace environment, Steady pace, Able to handle multiple priorities, Able to adapt to frequent change

• Previous work experience with respiratory care equipment

Responsibilities

• Identifies equipment repairs which can be done internally
• Ships warranty items for repair
• Determines the need to clean the laboratory and equipment areas
• Orders items available through Central Supply
