About The Position

Pinecrest Supports and Services Center specializes in the treatment of people with comorbid intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex medical, behavioral, and psychiatric support needs. Pinecrest Supports & Services Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated RESPIRATORY CARE THERAPIST 1-2 -REGISTERED to join our dynamic healthcare team. Requirements

  • Possession of a current Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license and accreditation with the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory therapy modality to individuals via small volume nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, oxygen concentrators, c-pap and bi-pap machines, tracheotomy care and suctioning, incentive Spirometry and assess clients pre and post treatment with pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, osculate bilateral breath sounds, skin color, sputum characteristics, cough effort and pulse.
  • Respond to all medical emergencies and codes. Document in progress notes and Medication Administration Record for any procedures performed or medications given.
  • Maintain and clean all respiratory equipment including oxygen concentrators, suction machines, c-pap, bi-pap equipment and air compressors.
  • Provides emergency tracheotomy kits, ensuring all supplies are within expiration dates.
  • Order and receive all respiratory supplies from Central Supply. Assemble and change out all disposable respiratory equipment, order oxygen and all respiratory medications from pharmacy.
  • Meets with Interdisciplinary Team as well as the Primary Care Providers and nurses to present and discuss pneumonia criteria, evaluation and respiratory care recommendations.
