About The Position

The Respiratory Care Supervisor oversees and supports the day-to-day operations of the Respiratory Care Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director of Respiratory Care, the supervisor assists in monitoring departmental performance and supporting initiatives that improve productivity, workflow, and service quality.   The Supervisor serves as a front-line leader and role model, demonstrating strong skills in communication, staff engagement, and operational support. This role promotes a positive and healthy work environment by encouraging teamwork, accountability, and collaboration among clinical staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. The supervisor supports patient satisfaction through clinical expertise, responsiveness, and effective problem-solving.   The Respiratory Care Supervisor assists with daily staffing, scheduling, and assignment coordination to ensure appropriate coverage and patient flow across the service line. The supervisor provides direct oversight of clinical staff, including coaching, performance feedback, and participation in annual performance evaluations and corrective actions in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Respiratory Care.    In addition, the Supervisor help ensure compliance with departmental policies, regulatory standards, infection control practices, and mandatory education requirements. Th supervisor may participate in quality improvement activities, staff education, and special projects as assigned, and other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • AARC RRT Credential in Respiratory Care required.
  • WV state license for Respiratory Care required.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS & PALS preferred.
