About The Position

This position is for a Respiratory Care Student at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. It is a PRN (as needed) role focused on providing evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients, consistent with the student's scope of practice. The role involves administering treatments, monitoring patient response, recording conditions, communicating with patients, and providing education.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Respiratory Educ Permit - Missouri Division of Professional Registration (for work in Missouri).
• Letter of Acknowledgment of Receipt of Application for Provisional Respiratory Care Practitioner - Oklahoma Medical Board (for work in Oklahoma).
• Provisional Respiratory Care Therapist - Oklahoma Medical Board (for work in Oklahoma).

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments to patients under appropriate supervision.
• Delivers and assesses patient response to ordered therapy.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.
• Provides patient education for diseases, medications, and treatment.
• May respond to Medical Emergencies and Rapid Responses.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
