About The Position
As our Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), you will be a vital clinical professional, dedicated to providing high-quality respiratory care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric critical care patients. Every day, under medical and departmental direction, you'll deliver essential respiratory care per physician orders and policies. You'll ensure critical care services are met, meticulously manage equipment, and adapt care plans to optimize patient outcomes. To be successful, you'll combine strong clinical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication, and a compassionate approach, directly contributing to healing and recovery in critical care.
Requirements
- two year Respiratory Care Program preferred or currently enrolled in a program.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA, upon hire
- Registered Respiratory Therapist, within 12 - months
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 6 - months
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience in the operation of electrocardiographic, electromyelographic and electroencephalographic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively with the patients including all the following: a. Acknowledges and identifies patient two patient identifiers b. Introduces self as a respiratory therapist c. Describes therapy involved and how long it will take d. Ends therapy properly
- Communicates well with fellow therapists including the following: a.Patient hand off thorough report on patients b.Clearly informs others of issues not directly related to patient care c. Seeks guidance, direction, and assistance when needed d.Uses chain of command e.Uses SBAR when appropriate
- Communicates effectively with physicians and nursing staff regarding patients care plan and implementation of any protocols
- Stays informed of information in the department by reading/signing directives
- Either attends department meetings or reads and signs the department minutes
