About The Position
Centinela Hospital Medical Center, an award-winning 362-bed acute-care hospital serving the Inglewood and Los Angeles communities for 100 years, is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP I). As part of Prime Healthcare, a Top-15 hospital system, Centinela Hospital offers a 24-hour STEMI certified emergency department, primary stroke center, orthopedic care, advanced cardiac services, critical care, and rehab programs. The RCP I, under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director/manager, is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician, with an emphasis on patient assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care considering age and population-specific needs. The role may also involve acting as a Lead RCP in the absence of a supervisor.
Requirements
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) (exempt if hired before March 2026)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of acute care experience

- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree
Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician
- Conduct assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient
- May be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift, in the absence of a supervisor
