About The Position

Harborview Medical Center is currently recruiting for a RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER to join our Respiratory Care Team! The Respiratory Care Practitioner will provide advanced Respiratory Care to patients of all ages, (e.g., newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). Care is provided under general supervision in all areas of Harborview Medical Center, intensive care units, acute care clinics and the emergency room. Additionally, the person in this role will serve as a role model and provides guidance to other staff including review and evaluation of performance. As the region's only Level I Trauma center, Harborview Medical Center is well known for innovations and excellence in trauma care and its centers of emphasis: Trauma, Burn, Neurosciences, AIDS/STD CARER, and mentally and medically vulnerable populations. Requirements

  • Completion of a respiratory care program approved by the State of Washington Department of Health equivalent education/experience will be considered
  • Must be RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the respiratory care process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to recommend, delegate, coordinate and proved safe, therapeutic respiratory care to patients
  • Make independent judgments/decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient issues
  • Collaborate with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the respiratory, medical and nursing plans of care.
  • Perform specific leadership functions related to clinical practice, education, and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Department Manager.
  • Serve as a role model and provide guidance to other staff including review and evaluation of performance.

Benefits

  • Pay Range Minimum: $87,804.00 annual
  • Pay Range Maximum: $137,340.00 annual
  • Other Compensation: $7,000 sign on bonus for eligible applicants
  • $5,000 sign on bonus for new respiratory graduates
  • $2.75/hr night shift differential
  • Relocation assistance may be provided to qualifying candidates
