About The Position

This position offers a $15,000 sign-on/retention bonus and involves setting up and operating various types of medical equipment. The role includes administering prescribed doses of drugs, preparing and maintaining patient charts, and cleaning, inspecting, and testing equipment. The Registered Respiratory Therapist will perform all duties associated with the role, participate in safety briefings with ground and air crew members, and communicate personal accountabilities for maintaining a safe environment. This includes indicating changes in road and airspace conditions, contributing to quality assurance methods, and developing and documenting competency in accordance with clinical requirements. The therapist will manage patients with individualized care, evaluate the effectiveness of care, and modify treatment based on clinical presentations. Collaboration with teammates, patients, and healthcare providers is essential to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The role also requires completing all necessary documentation of patient transport and ensuring the operational readiness of medical equipment and transport vehicles.

Requirements

  • 3 years of tertiary care center (Level I) Critical Care RRT experience in the care of adult, pediatric, or neonatal patients preferred.
  • Previous transport experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team required.
  • Completion of DHART orientation program required prior to being assigned as a team member.
  • Must meet DHART mandatory physical requirements verified by pre-employment screening and yearly thereafter.

  • Current RCP licensure in the State of NH.
  • Licensed EMT in the state of NH and VT within one year of hire date.
  • Nationally Registered EMT or EMT Advanced (NREMT) within one year of hire date.
  • Current certification in BLS.
  • ACLS certification upon hire.
  • PALS certification upon hire.
  • NRP certification upon hire.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) upon hire.
  • Certified Neonatal Pediatric Transport (NPT) within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates various types of equipment.
  • Administers prescribed doses of drugs.
  • Prepares and maintains a chart for each patient.
  • Cleans, inspects, and tests equipment.
  • Performs all duties of the Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Participates in safety briefings with ground and air crew members.
  • Communicates changes in road and airspace conditions to crew members.
  • Contributes to quality assurance methods for program safety.
  • Develops and documents competency in clinical competencies for a Transport RCP.
  • Receives reports from referring hospitals/agencies.
  • Gathers relevant data and applies patient care following DHART protocols.
  • Manages patients with individualized care and evaluates effectiveness of care.
  • Works in partnership with teammates and healthcare providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Performs and documents procedures as outlined in DHART Clinical Protocols.
  • Completes required documentation of patient transport before shift ends.
  • Identifies logistical shortcomings and addresses findings with transport councils and leadership.
  • Ensures operational readiness of medical equipment and transport vehicle.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
