About The Position

SSM Health at Home is seeking a dedicated individual to provide respiratory therapy services and prescribed medical equipment/supplies to patients. This position involves working Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with an on-call rotation. The role requires assessing patients, developing care plans, and coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure effective treatment and patient compliance.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.
• Proof of motor vehicle liability insurance that meets minimum state requirements upon hire and upon request.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Respiratory Care Practitioner certification from the relevant state department.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Provides respiratory care services in accordance with specific physician's orders, department policies, and procedures and guidelines.
• Coordinates care plans for respiratory patients.
• Evaluates patient progress and communicates with other health care providers regarding modifications to patient treatment, patient progress, and patient compliance.
• Educates patients and caregivers in the proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Troubleshoots equipment related questions/concerns.
• Evaluates respiratory practice and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Participates in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
