About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Respiratory Care Practitioner / Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support a hospital-based Respiratory Care Department in New York City. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) within a fully operational pulmonary lab, along with exposure to critical care environments.

Requirements

Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License
Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Program
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years of Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience in a functioning pulmonary lab
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience performing:
Spirometry
Plethysmography
DLCO
6-Minute Walk Tests
ABGs
Working knowledge of current mechanical ventilation standards
Proficiency with computer applications
BLS certification (required)

Nice To Haves

2+ years of ICU experience
Intubation experience
ACLS certification

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) , including:
Spirometry
Plethysmography
DLCO testing
6-Minute Walk Tests
Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Operate, calibrate, and maintain PFT lab equipment in accordance with clinical standards
Apply working knowledge of mechanical ventilation systems and ventilator management
Collaborate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Ensure accurate and timely documentation using computer-based systems
Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety protocols
