About The Position

Montclair Hospital Medical Center is a 106-bed acute care, not-for-profit community hospital, recognized for its excellence in patient care and safety. The RCP II position involves performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures under the direction of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, tailored to the specific needs of patients. In the absence of a supervisor, the RCP II may act as the Lead RCP, overseeing the section or department during their shift.

Requirements

• State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
• 2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
• ACLS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• NRP certificate preferred.
• PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• NRP certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Assess, plan, implement, and document care considering age and population-specific needs.
• Act as Lead RCP in the absence of a supervisor, responsible for the section or department during their shift.
