About The Position

The Respiratory Care Practitioner at BayCare HomeCare is a clinical professional responsible for providing respiratory services and equipment management to patients in their homes or contracted facilities. This role involves direct patient interaction, education on respiratory equipment, and collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Associates/Technical degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner - Critical Care/CRT Certification.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (preferred).
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Complete day-to-day orders called into the Respiratory Therapy Department and follow up on visits for apnea monitor and ventilator patients, ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• Educate patients and caregivers on the setup, use, maintenance, and safety of respiratory therapy equipment in the home.
• Perform diagnostic testing on behalf of the physician and communicate with the patient's physician regarding clarification of orders or the patient's response to care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
