The Respiratory Care Practitioner at Maryview Medical Center is responsible for providing respiratory care through patient assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation. This role involves monitoring the patient's response to therapies and making recommendations for modifications based on assessments. The position is full-time on the night shift and offers a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.

Requirements

  • Current Respiratory Care License in the state of practice (required)
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed (required)
  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (required)
  • Valid driver’s license (required for Home Care/DME)

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (preferred)
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross (preferred)
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association (preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred)
  • Previous working experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting (preferred)
  • 6 months Respiratory Therapy experience in a general care area (preferred)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Analyze assessment data and create a plan of care.
  • Implement treatment and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Perform treatments and therapies according to physician orders.
  • Explain therapy and therapeutic goals to patients and modify treatment procedures based on patient response.
  • Set up and maintain different modes of therapy and determine appropriateness of prescribed therapy.
  • Maintain proper documentation, patient medical charting, and recordkeeping.
  • Provide patient education on cardiopulmonary diseases/disorders and associated treatment options.
  • Instruct patients and caregivers in the use of respiratory therapy equipment and procedures.
  • Respond to cardio-pulmonary resuscitations and actively participate as indicated.
