About The Position

This is a limited-term position with an anticipated duration of approximately one year. Performs therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures and provides assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities. Exercises sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to provide input to and implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis and physician orders in a timely manner. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orient other staff to the department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • CA Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) within 90 days.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) if required at the entity for the role.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
  • Knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC.
