The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is responsible for delivering all types of respiratory modalities to patients, adhering to the department’s standard operating procedures. The RCP must possess comprehensive knowledge and skills in various areas, including pharmacology related to Respiratory Therapy Drugs, Cardiopulmonary Anatomy, Physiology, Acid-Base Analysis, Electrocardiography, Bronchoscopy, Holter Monitoring, C-Section stand-by, Neonatal Intubation, Pulmonary Function, and Treadmill Testing. This also includes understanding the indications and contraindications for procedures such as IPPB, Oxygen Administration, Chest Physiotherapy, Aerosol Administration, and Mechanical Ventilator use. The RCP is expected to exhibit self-direction in completing assigned patient care duties.
