About The Position

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is responsible for delivering all types of respiratory modalities to patients, adhering to the department’s standard operating procedures. The RCP must possess comprehensive knowledge and skills in various areas, including pharmacology related to Respiratory Therapy Drugs, Cardiopulmonary Anatomy, Physiology, Acid-Base Analysis, Electrocardiography, Bronchoscopy, Holter Monitoring, C-Section stand-by, Neonatal Intubation, Pulmonary Function, and Treadmill Testing. This also includes understanding the indications and contraindications for procedures such as IPPB, Oxygen Administration, Chest Physiotherapy, Aerosol Administration, and Mechanical Ventilator use. The RCP is expected to exhibit self-direction in completing assigned patient care duties.

Requirements

  • Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of California
  • Graduate from an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Technician program
  • Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy
  • Minimum two years experience
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current NRP certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS certification

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred
  • Clinical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver all types of respiratory modalities to patients
  • Carry out procedures related to pharmacology as it pertains to Respiratory Therapy Drugs
  • Perform procedures related to Cardiopulmonary Anatomy, Physiology, Acid-Base Analysis, Electrocardiography, Bronchoscopy, Holter Monitoring, C-Section stand-by, Neonatal Intubation, Pulmonary Function and Treadmill Testing
  • Administer IPPB
  • Administer Oxygen
  • Perform Chest Physiotherapy
  • Administer Aerosol
  • Manage Mechanical Ventilator
  • Complete assigned patient care duties
