About The Position

Performs delegated respiratory care treatments involving non-invasively ventilated patients in medical/surgical units in cooperation with assigned licensed respiratory therapist resource. This includes and is not limited to: patient assessments, therapy, non-invasive mechanical ventilation, and monitoring emergency procedures according to department and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Student in good standing, enrolled in an AMA and NBRC approved Associate in Applied Science Degree Respiratory Care Program.
  • Successfully completed the first year of a Respiratory Care didactic and clinical education or 1-year of patient care related experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Upon graduation from a respiratory care program and acceptance of a respiratory therapist position at Children¿s Minnesota, you must provide proof of licensure submission to the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (MBMP) within 3-months. Failure to meet this timeline could result in removal from the schedule and corrective action up to termination of employment.
