About The Position

The instructor works under the supervision of the Program Director and is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the philosophy and objectives of their program. The instructor is responsible for designing, implementing, teaching, evaluating, and revising the program's curriculum and related educational materials as assigned for the delivery of both residential and distance education courses. The instructor assists in the development and evaluation of student admission, progression, retention, graduation and related program and college policies. Accountable for student outcomes, the instructor acts as a resource for students, providing support, remediation, academic advisement and counseling, and referral as needed. The instructor actively engages in scholarly pursuits to enhance metaprofessional skills and support learning in the areas of educational theory, instructional design and delivery, assessment, and systematic evaluation relative to both residential and distance education methods. Each member of the faculty shall maintain professional competence in their specific discipline through such activities as practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing. The instructor participates in community and institutional service activities which contribute to the mission of RHS and RCHC. The instructor performs other duties as assigned. Essential functions are fundamental job duties, knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary to perform the position. For all College Instructor and Staff positions, standards are intended to apply to all educational delivery methods - residential, blended, and/or distance as feasible. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, In the Allied Health Profession of hire, Education, or a related field (Required)
  • Program Graduate, In the Allied Health Profession of hire (Required)
  • 3-4 years Recent (within last 5 years) clinical experience or teaching in the specified field or a combination of the two prior to hire date (Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) with current unencumbered Virginia license (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a clinical educational setting (Preferred)
  • Formal didactic teaching experience (Preferred)
