About The Position

To ensure compliance with respirable dust regulation sampling requirements and work collaboratively with production, maintenance, safety, and engineering to maintain compliance with 30 CFR 48, 70, 71, 72 and 90.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have excellent communication (verbal- written) skills.
• Must be able to think clearly and act calmly.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Ability to effectively complete job duties with minimal supervision.
• Computer literate (proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and the ability to become proficient with Drager and Thermo Fisher programs).

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of mining and ventilation considered a plus.
• Two (2) years of experience around underground mining process preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with respirable dust sampling regulations including record keeping and sample submittal.
• Training employees on dust compliance, testing procedures and data collection, etc.
• Working collaboratively with production, maintenance, safety, and engineering to maintain respirable dust compliance while minimizing the adverse impact to productivity.
• Maintaining detailed records of all samples taken as required both electronically and manually.
• Maintaining MSHA Certification in Dust Sampling and Calibration/Maintenance.
• Reporting non-compliant sampling results quickly to mine management and facilitating corrective action(s) to be made in a timely manner to prevent citations.
• Being proficient in setup, use and maintenance of all dust collection equipment used at the mine including: c alibrating all dust collection equipment and m aintaining dust sampling equipment.
• Understanding of current and future dust regulations required of the industry.
